Testimony in Temane

Every Thursday afternoon we go to a village allied Temane. This village has 5 believers, no Bibles, and no church building. We have been going to build relationships with these people and teach them about God. I did two new things while I was there this past week: I pounded rice and shared my testimony in Portuguese!

Meghan and Lilly brought bubbles for the first time.
The kids LOVED them! (Notice the little girl with the
babydoll strapped on her back in front of Meghan..
so precious!)

Flora, my language teacher, and I pounding rice. It was
hard work and I lasted about 5 minutes.

We were watching so we knew how it was done. These
girls are from 6-12 years old...they are working at an
early age!

Right before we started

The girl was walking around trying to find someone to
help her. Tracy called her over and retied her baby doll on!

My second momma!

Here are a few faces I get to see each week. Love these kids with all my heart and I want ALL of them to come home with me!

I could eat her with a spoon!

Beautiful

They LOVE to smile and laugh!

Can I have him, please?

Jesus, Jesus

My testimony in Portuguese. It's hard to hear in some parts
because of the wind and kids. So listen closely.
Enjoy!

Random Things

The purpose of this blog post is to show you what goes on daily here in Africa. A whole bunch of randomness and craziness! Enjoy!

African watermelon!

Lilly and I devoured the watermelon.

What was left after we were done...not much!

The girls language teacher, Eva, and I coloring
on a rainy day!

Hard at work!

Flora and Lilly, singing in the rain!

This is Flora, my language teacher
and friend! Love her!

Watercolors and trees!

Language learning!

This is what Tracy and Lee do everyday....
study, study, study, and study some more!

Tie-dying t-shirts!

Our friend Hannah! She lives in Zambia and
came to visit the girls.

We had a lot of construction in front
of our house last week.

Typical Tracy

Goofing off with Meghan and Lilly!

This precious one is my favorite!

I put Meg on my back like a true African!

This was taken today: we all wore baby dolls on our backs.
And Emma carried her dog, Ode, instead!
Life is crazy here in Mozambique. There is no "normal" day here. Each day brings new adventures, smiles, and laughs! I am soaking it all in because I will be home before I'm ready!

Love to all!

Pretend Safari in the Backyard

One night this past week, the girls and I went on a pretend safari. We got on the top of the car and played for almost an hour! I love these times with the girls! Here are a few picture and they are pretty self explanatory...

Emma our driver. Lilly and I on our expidition!

I think I saw something really cool like an elephant or
zebra!

Hold on Lilly!!!!

Something was intriguing!

We had watchers from the bakery next door..they probably
thought we were crazy!

These girls are so precious to me and I am enjoying every minute I get to spend with them! Even on a pretend safari!
Love and miss you all!!

Women's Conference

Last weekend, I went to a women's "congresso" (conference) with Tracy. We camped out in a tent and spent time with women from different churches in the area. Normally there are hundreds of women but this one was for leaders only. I had a great time and enjoyed eating my favorite food!

A building we sat in while waiting for all the ladies.

The women LOVE getting their nails painted!

A time of fellowship with each other.

These boys followed me everywhere! Just like my
momma....they find me and attach!

Precious child and his momma! He was terrified of us!

The church in Nicoadala where we met.

The church ladies would not let us sleep outside so we
set our tent up inside the church. All the ladies that attended
the conference (about 20) slept inside the church with us.
It was extremely loud! Africans LOVE to sing and
talk loudly all night!

Told you!

By the end of the night, I had 5 mangos from those boys!

Did someone leave their chicken in the church? We didn't
know who it belonged to but it scared me to death!

Eating dinner at 8 o'clock in the dark. Hey, you gotta do
what you gotta do!

Rice and fish!

Tracy teaching out of James Saturday morning.

The lunch ladies!

Beans and cabbage. When you mix them with rice...best
African food known to man! So yummy!!

My all-time favorite!

After lunch on Saturday, we packed up and headed home. It was a great experience but different from what I expected! I will never get the opportunity to do it again so I took it all in! Please pray for all the churches in this area. Pray for good godly leadership and responsibility among the congregations.

Love you all!
