Women's Conference

Last weekend, I went to a women's "congresso" (conference) with Tracy. We camped out in a tent and spent time with women from different churches in the area. Normally there are hundreds of women but this one was for leaders only. I had a great time and enjoyed eating my favorite food!

A building we sat in while waiting for all the ladies.

The women LOVE getting their nails painted!

A time of fellowship with each other.

These boys followed me everywhere! Just like my
momma....they find me and attach!

Precious child and his momma! He was terrified of us!

The church in Nicoadala where we met.

The church ladies would not let us sleep outside so we
set our tent up inside the church. All the ladies that attended
the conference (about 20) slept inside the church with us.
It was extremely loud! Africans LOVE to sing and
talk loudly all night!

Told you!

By the end of the night, I had 5 mangos from those boys!

Did someone leave their chicken in the church? We didn't
know who it belonged to but it scared me to death!

Eating dinner at 8 o'clock in the dark. Hey, you gotta do
what you gotta do!

Rice and fish!

Tracy teaching out of James Saturday morning.

The lunch ladies!

Beans and cabbage. When you mix them with rice...best
African food known to man! So yummy!!

My all-time favorite!

After lunch on Saturday, we packed up and headed home. It was a great experience but different from what I expected! I will never get the opportunity to do it again so I took it all in! Please pray for all the churches in this area. Pray for good godly leadership and responsibility among the congregations.

Love you all!

His Servant,
Sheldon

  1. The beans/cabbage/rice mixture sounds yummy! Loved this post, Sheldon. Those three boys are so cute... I can picture you playing and talking with them. So did the girls come with you too? What a neat experience. Did you eat the fish? Do you have to eat everything (to be polite)? I had to do that in Jamaica... that chicken is so funny! Love reading these posts. Can't wait to skype again soon!
